Rituals for PPD 2008

HPPD Community Building Ritual
It’s not about the history anymore; it’s about building for the future.

It’s not important what path you practice, who your teacher is, where you got your training or what books you have read etc. We are a varied bunch of likeminded people from all walks of life, of different ages and backgrounds, all on different yet similar paths.

What is important is that you get to know who your community is and learn to share your experiences with them. Whether it is on a magical level in a ritual or in a public setting at a park or pub, get to know your fellow pagan/magically inclined neighbour. Join Amy Taylor and friends in a ritual setting to help create a new beginning for the pagan community in the Hamilton area.  Let’s welcome our future, and learn to nurture it together. Bring an open mind and leave your baggage behind.

Time TBA

Ásatrú Ritual
 Conducted by Gary Penzler

Ásatrú, variously also known as Germanic/Teutonic/Scandinavian/Anglo-Saxon Paganism, Heathenry, Odinism and many other names, is a reawakening of the indigenous, pre-Christian beliefs and practices of the Germanic and Scandinavian peoples. The names of some of  the deities are still known by many today, such as such as Odin, Thor and Freyja. Ásatrúar and Heathens pay respect to the ancient gods and goddesses, the spirits of nature, and their own ancestors. They value courage, honesty, hospitality and learning about the cultures and stories of those who've gone before them. Although there are extremists who try to use Ásatrú as a platform for racist agendas, this attitude is not part of Ásatrú.

Gary Penzler is a member of Grastó Hearth, which is a local Hamilton Ásatrú group who've been together for three years. Some of their members have been presenting information on Ásatrú for years, including presenting the Ásatrú ritual at Pagan Pride Hamilton since its inception.

Men's Circle/Women's Circle

Men's Circle
Conducted by Aidhain

This circle is a men's ritual celebrating the male aspect of the gods.  It will run at the same time as our women's ritual.

Aidhain is a high priest for the Wiccan Church of Canada.  He is also a 3rd Degree Alexandrian.

Women's Circle
Conducted by Nemeton

Description to Come

Nemeton is a semi-private womans teaching circle, whose members celebrate their religion openly.  We embrace the Goddess within us, hold workshops and gather to worship with the goal of creating spiritual growth.
