Rituals for PPD 2008 HPPD
Community Building Ritual
Time TBA Ásatrú Ritual Ásatrú, variously also known as Germanic/Teutonic/Scandinavian/Anglo-Saxon Paganism, Heathenry, Odinism and many other names, is a reawakening of the indigenous, pre-Christian beliefs and practices of the Germanic and Scandinavian peoples. The names of some of the deities are still known by many today, such as such as Odin, Thor and Freyja. Ásatrúar and Heathens pay respect to the ancient gods and goddesses, the spirits of nature, and their own ancestors. They value courage, honesty, hospitality and learning about the cultures and stories of those who've gone before them. Although there are extremists who try to use Ásatrú as a platform for racist agendas, this attitude is not part of Ásatrú. Gary Penzler is a member of Grastó Hearth, which is a local Hamilton Ásatrú group who've been together for three years. Some of their members have been presenting information on Ásatrú for years, including presenting the Ásatrú ritual at Pagan Pride Hamilton since its inception. Find them at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gorething. Men's Circle This circle is a men's ritual celebrating the male aspect of the
gods. It will run at the same time as our women's ritual. Women's Circle Description to Come Nemeton is a semi-private womans teaching circle, whose members celebrate their religion openly. We embrace the Goddess within us, hold workshops and gather to worship with the goal of creating spiritual growth.
